A very collectable gold Aureus of the Emperor Titus struck at the mint of Rome at the end of the reign of Vespasian, around the year 79 AD. The obverse features the laureate head of the emperor facing right, with the reverse showing Pax standing leaning on a column holding an olive branch and caduceus over a tripod. Titus Flavius Vespasianus was the son of the emperor Vespasian and commanded a legion in his father's name to capture Jerusalem in AD 70. He issued his own coins during his father’s reign, before succeeding him as emperor.
