A nephew of Constantine the Great, Julian was proclaimed emperor in 360, kicking off a civil war with his cousin, Constantius II that ended with Constantius’ death in 361. He was mortally wounded during a campaign against the Sassanian Empire and died in 363. This silver coin was struck at the mint of Lugdunum (modern day Lyon). Weight: 1.70 grams.
