N M Rothschild Kilo Gold Bars
N. M. Rothschild & Sons bank (now Rothschild & Co) was established in London in 1811 by Nathan Mayer Rothschild, one of the sons of banker Mayer Amschel Rothschild. The family made their fortune via loans, government bonds and bullion trading, taking a leading role in global military, economic and industrial matters through the 19th and 20th centuries. N. M. Rothschild withdrew from the gold market in 2004. Since then, interest in their bullion products has remained strong among collectors, drawn by the allure of the Rothschild name.
The Royal Mint Refinery
The 'R.M.R.' letters at the centre of the Rothschild stamp stands for Royal Mint Refinery, a bullion refining facility in London that Rothschild leased in 1852 at the peak of the Californian and Australian gold rushes.
Mocatta & Goldsmid Ltd London Bullion Brokers
With a history dating back to 1671, Mocatta & Goldsmid were bullion dealers and refiners who served as brokers to the Bank of England and the East India Company. Mocatta & Goldsmid were later acquired by Scotiabank, becoming ScotiaMocatta. The business was one of the original refiners on the London Good Delivery List and was later a market-making member of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA).
